Robert Lynn Carroll Award

The Robert Lynn Carroll Award is awarded in recognition of outstanding scholarly excellence in the discipline of Vertebrate Paleontology by an early- to mid-career researcher. The award is named in honor of Bob Carroll’s impact on Vertebrate Paleontology and Evolution. 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS 

  • Nominees must have no more than 15 years of full-time experience after completing their doctorate or equivalent degree (excluding parental or other leave but not excluding time spent outside of the profession). 

HOW TO SUBMIT 

Submit nominations via the online award submission system.  Nominations are confidential and candidates should not be informed of the submission. Please include the following in your nomination documentation:  

  • A formal letter of nomination. 
  • At least two (2) letters in support of the nomination. Each letter must include the contact information of the person providing the letter (name, institution, phone and e-mail address). Nominating and supporting letters should explain how the nominee fits the criteria for the award, emphasizing their contributions to Vertebrate Paleontology thus far in their career. 
  • Curriculum vitae of the nominee minimally including education, professional experience, research overview, professional service, and publications. Any career breaks should also be indicated.
